KRANE Boris Zip-Blazer Bomber
A/W 2012
Ken Chow, founder and creative director of KRANE, established his Toronto-based label in the early 2000s. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s menswear program in New York, Chow honed his skills interning with designers like Marc Jacobs, and Robert Geller and Alexandre Plokhov of the NY cult label Cloak. Krane’s utilitarian outerwear and accessoriesl are meticulously crafted in Canada. The name of the label, Krane, is a combination of what the crane bird represents in Asian symbolism; Daniel-san’s winning karate style in the Karate Kid; and the industrial crane.
This three-way lovechild of a blazer, bomber and biker jacket is constructed of deerskin sleeves and trim; signature waxed cotton shell, and a piltrol ribbing at back for ease and comfort. The inner body lining is cotton with bemberg lined sleeves. Complete with RiRi bulb zippers the jacket features adjustable cuffs, front zip closure, a biker sleeve pocket and hanger chain.
