Jean Paul Gaultier Trompe-L’œil Denim Jacket - A/W 1998
Jean Paul Gaultier Trompe-L’œil Denim Jacket - A/W 1998
A/W 1998
This jacket from Jean Paul Gaultier’s “Gaultier Jean’s” line features an illusory black denim jacket print. This realistic optical illusion is known as trompe-l’œil (French for ‘deceive the eye’) and is an artistic technique French designer Gaultier pioneered distinctively within fashion.
Despite its hyper-realistic appearance, the jacket does not feature any of the pockets that appear, and functions as a canvas for such features to appear. The jacket can be done up with either the zipper or buttons at the front.
Condition is good, however with age come some minor flaws such as the light mark seen pictured in the last image.
